Check the exported file first
Open the downloaded PDF, read it at a phone-sized width and inspect every page edge. Your design editor's preview can hide an export problem. Separate a file that will not upload from a document that uploads but is difficult to read.
If a screenshot label needs zooming in, try a tighter crop or move that detail onto a separate slide. Enlarging a small image cannot restore missing source detail.
Confirm the current upload requirements
LinkedIn's official guidance, checked 28 October 2026, lists maximums of 100 MB and 300 pages. It recommends PDF, consistent page sizes, and flattening or merging multilayer PDFs. Animation appears as static content. Add a document title and review the final file carefully: you cannot replace the document inside an existing post.
The source is linked below. Recheck it when publishing. The remaining checks are editorial recommendations, rather than extra platform requirements.
Match the symptom to a check
Scroll the table horizontally if all columns are not visible.
| Symptom | Check | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| Upload rejected | File opens locally; format, size and page count | Export a simpler document and compare its properties. |
| Text hard to read | Text density and labels at a narrow width | Shorten the explanation or split the slide by idea. |
| Clipped content | Page sizes, object positions and exported edges | Use consistent pages and move essential labels inward. |
| Blurry screenshots | Original image and downloaded PDF | Replace a weak source; avoid repeatedly resizing it. |
| Clear locally, poor platform preview | The exact uploaded file and resulting preview | Investigate the upload step; repeated compression is not a universal fix. |
Give every slide a job
For a fictional issue tracker, try six slides: a messy report, the report's context, the action that creates an issue, the priority decision, the assigned result and one invitation to try it. This describes a workflow without inventing a productivity statistic or customer testimonial.
If a slide only restates the previous slide, combine them. Review the headings on their own to see whether the sequence still makes sense.
Your preflight checklist
- Open the final exported PDF, rather than the editor preview.
- Check file properties against current official guidance.
- Confirm consistent page sizes and inspect all edges.
- Read screenshot labels and headings at a narrow width.
- Check sources for factual claims and label fictional examples.
- Test links and write a useful next action.
- Inspect the platform preview before posting, then retain the source and final export together.
